Thanksgiving 2009

After he got his first strike!

This year Nick and I spent Thanksgiving with his wonderful family. We decided before we got married that we would not do the "half and half" holiday. The one where you eat dinner with one family and then desert with the other. We thought it best and most enjoyable to just be with one family for the whole day. It really is the best way. We never feel pressured to leave or have to run out. Anyways, back to the good stuff. Last year the Strobelt's started a new tradition, one that I hope keeps. The morning of Thanksgiving the whole family goes bowling. Tiffany, being the great sister she is, brings snacks and drinks. There are no prizes or winners but we all have a good time. This year Nick did surprisingly well, seeing that we go bowling one time a year. We headed over to Tiffany's for dinner around 4 pm. Of course it was amazing and so fun to spend it with family.

Not only the cutest baby but seriously is so good. Tiffany's baby Centri 5 months.

Just some of the food. I must say a favorite of mine is the middle dish called Zucchini casserole.

This year I am overwhelmed with all the blessings I have. I am having a baby in 4 weeks, what is more blessed than that. Nick and I will both have graduated this year. That seemed near impossible 3 years ago. And with all this economic trauma we still have our house, job, and the ability to keep up with all the bills. The Lord truly has not forgotten the little Strobelt clan. At times I wonder what I did to deserve the near perfect life I live. None of my even best actions seem worthy. In the end the Lord loves his children and blesses because of that love. Hope all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
