First Day of School 2017

I usually am so sad to start school and leave summer behind but not this year! After the crazy boring summer we have had I was so excited to send the kids off to school and start rebuilding my life. Its amazing how behind you get when you sleep 16 hours a day. It helps that we are starting school early this year and we still have months of summer and swimming ahead of us. So its not really the end of fun quite yet.

Alice is starting full day kindergarten and has been counting down the days! She is so excited to meet new friends, eat lunch in the lunch room, and scoot to school with Scarlett and her cousins. She is not nervous at all and I am so happy about that. When I dropped her off she just ran right into her class and starting chatting away to the little boy next to her. She is so, so ready and so am I. I love that Alice is witty, sassy, super cuddly, and so gentle with little kids. She will be a great help when the baby comes.

Scarlett is off to second grade and is a little nervous because she has a boy teacher. But I told her she is super special because she has the only boy teacher in the entire school! I am sure she will do great this year and make so many new friends. Scarlett struggles in school a little but she is such a great student overall. She makes friends super easily, is go with the flow, follows all the rules, loves the structure, and is so easy to please. She is any teachers dream come true! And don't worry she had to buy an extra pencil box to keep in her back pack so when she finds treasures at school she has a place to put them...haha. This girls LOVES finding treasures!

Summer 2017

It was a weird and very uneventful summer! I found out I was pregnant with baby 4 in May and got really sick just as the girls finished school. That put a huge damper on our summer. I laid in bedpost days while the girls played, watched TV, did crafts, took care of Jack, and made huge messes in the kitchen. I was able to go to girls camp in June with the young women but other than that we did not leave town this summer...it was a long summer! But of course Emily came to the rescue and would pick us up (I was too sick to drive), shove all her kids and my kids in her minivan and drive us places. We went to the Children's Museum a couple of times, moms pool all the time, and the library once a week. I feel so blessed she lives close to get us out of the house!! Despite it not being eventful the kids said they had a great summer and we still made tons of memories.

Playing in the back yard, July 4th with family and cousins, Pioneer Day parade, Woodbury reunion, and of course the Lake Mead.

2017 Cabin Trip

After 2 months in Vegas we were SO excited to get out of town and spend a couple days in cool weather. Jack was absolutely adorable while fishing and kept saying "mom I go bishing by myself". I am still in shock that he caught a fish all by himself!! He was not a fan of touching the fish but he loved the fishing poles. The girls loved helping Nick build their forrest fort and find "furniture" for it. They played for hours in the fort with Jack and Emily's boys. It was a great long weekend with family and the best part was meeting sweet baby Hazel!
