Summer Cabin Trip

We closed on our house on Thursday, signed papers and then drove up to the cabin to celebrate!! We were all so excited to finally say that our house is officially our home!! Let all the unpacking begin...yay.  The girls were so excited to go to the cabin they sang " we're going to the cabin" the whole way up. As usual we had a great time hiking, playing outside, going on 4 wheelers rides, and staying up late watching movies. We loved it all. On Friday evening I drove up with my mom, emily, and Clarah to go to Caity's bridal shower in Salt Lake. I loved spending time with my sisters and seeing Caity so excited to get married. We even got to see her try on her wedding dress for a dress fitting! While we were in Salt Lake for the day the men stayed home with kiddos and went fishing. Scarlett was tragically disappointed when they caught NO fish. So sad. But she said she still loves fishing. We all loved getting away from the heat and spending some much needed time outdoors exploring!

Dance Recital

Every Wednesday from September to June I took the girls to dance. Scarlett went to cheer and Alice had a combo (tap and ballet) class. It took Scarlett some time to warm up to her cheer class. It was until after Christmas and teacher change that she really started to love it. She was so excited at the recital to scream "hit it" to start her classes routine! Alice just loved it all and begs to go back to the high school to do the recital again. She loved the stage, lights, and holding her special flower (the one in the pics). I loved seeing them smile big and wave to me from the stage. When Alice came out for the final bow she screamed "thats my mom" and waved to me. It was worth getting their an hour early to get those front row seats. Cant wait to start again when school starts and this year it will only be 5 minutes away!!

The MOVE

Despite really, really not wanting to move over July 4th weekend it happened anyway. We did the big move on Saturday July 2nd and I must say it worked out perfectly!! We new going into this move that with are landlords ( for the Enzo house) not letting us stay a little longer that it would be a crazy move. But honestly, it could not have been more smooth. I felt peace this whole last 2 months that everything would workout. Even when I looked at the situation and thought "I should be freaking out" I still felt peace. I know the Lord has guided our hand in choosing this house and making everything possible. We decided to start looking at houses seriously in April and in July we moved. It was quick, efficient, and wonderful!

We felt the hand of the Lord in our lives the whole time. When we moved on July 2nd we would be still be renting our old Enzo house for about a week. But we decided on the 2nd that instead of making small trips over the week to just do one big Uhaul move. We made two trips with the Uhaul, moved every last thing out of the Enzo house and cleaned it. Because we did that our landlords let us not pay anything in July! This was a huge blessings. We were also able to smoothly pack all our stuff in just a week! We also were able to rent our new house for a couple days before we closed. These are all little things but they made the stress of moving go way down. Here we are a week after moving and we are just living life as usual. I was so worried that moving would ruin/take over our summer and it has not changed a thing! We still swim every day, go on adventures, and play with friends. We all feel extremely blessed!

Scarlett was sad to leave her room

Day after the move and it looks like business as usual

we left our mark on the sidewalk outside our house. I hope kids see it over the years and wonder "what does j loves n mean?'

July 4th 2016

I love when my favorite holiday approaches! The days are long, hot, and filled with fun. I love the warm summer nights and taking walks around the neighborhood in bare feet. July 4th will always be such a special holiday for me! This time around we went bowling in the morning with the Flake family, then went to see Finding Dory, and then ended the day swimming at moms and lighting fireworks. I also love the Hillsboro party every year on July 3rd. It has such a community feel and of course all the food. We just eat and eat and we love it! Even with the move just 2 days before we still managed to enjoy every second to this holiday!
