Alice 7 Months

She is an adorable, ray of sunshine on the move. Her favorite activity is to scoot ALL over our house. I put her on the ground and she immediately scoots over to the toys, where ever they may be. If they are all picked up (lets be honest, not very often) she scoots over to the big bucket and waits for me to give her some. When I go to get her she without fail has a ball in her hand. We have a bunch of balls in all our toy buckets and she always finds them.

With Scarlett everyone always commented on how smiley and social she was. With Alice everyone  notices what a calm and happy baby she is. This little girl could be 2 hours late getting a nap or food and she still would be happy, like at church where she is just happy as could be. Last night she was exhausted but we had my parents over for FHE and I knew they wanted to see her. Even being hungry and ready for bed she was a delight. It makes this labor intensive baby stage so easy. I love it.

7 things about my 7 month old
1. Loves table food and gets made if we don't give her any
2. Is getting over her "bathroom" issues (it's not perfect but better)
3. Eats every meal in the bumbo and when I get it out she gets so excited
4. Naps have been rough (20-30 mintues) but she is so happy so I can not complain
5. Loves her sippy cup with apple juice
6. Grabs your face and no matter how often I trim her nails she scratches me.

7.  Is so snuggly and always rests
her head on my shoulder when she is tired, no whinning, just lays theres.

Does this all the time. A little "downward dog" on the edge.

The Funnies

Scarlett- sings all day the FUN. song "We are young". Sings it on the potty, while going to bed, eating breakfast ect. Ask her "how old are you?" and she promptly replies "twoandahalf".  Her favorite color is green and always want to wear a tacky green bow. Sometime I let her.  She has a bunch of stuffed animals and loves to use her fake kitchen food to make them dinner. I hear her yelling at them "you naughty babies eat your food." Is so sweet and loves to give me "ear kisses" and "butterfly kisses". When I get hurt (jam my toe or hit my arm) she wants to kiss it better and then rubs my face. Is learning what is right and wrong. When she does something right she yells "good job". She had a rough couple of months but I think she is coming out of it.

Alice- This girl routinely takes a big bite of baby food and then blows it all over. I mean like every other bite. What?! It's getting out of hand. She also has super long arms and while she is sitting in her bumbo on the counter can reach everything. She throws it all on the floor. Talk about naughty baby. She is getting ready to crawl any day. Right now she is a turbo scooter.

Together- got into diaper rash cream and got it all over themselves. What a mess. I guess brushing my teeth alone was too much to ask.

We have been having tons of fun these last couple of weeks with cousins. Scarlett has been in heaven and every morning asks to play with them.
Scar and Wes "prom" shot.

Scarlett LOVES Centri. Glad she has a girl cousin in town

Wide Open Spaces...

My littlest sister Clarah left for BYU-Idaho yesterday. I miss Clarah already but I know she will have the time of her life. I always think of the Dixi Chick song "Wide Open Spaces" when kids go off to school. It just fits.
"She needs wide open spaces
Room to make her big mistakes
She needs new faces
She knows the high stakes

She traveled this road as a child
Wide eyed and grinning, she never tired
But now she won't be coming back with the rest
If these are life's lessons, she'll take this test"

For my mom and dad it is an end of an era, after raising kids for 36 years they are done. The years went by fast. I remember holding a 2 month old Clarah at my 2nd grade open house. I was so excited to show her off to all my friends. I drove away from saying goodbye, in tears of course, and looked back at my kiddos in their car seats. It will go by fast for me too.

At Clarah's graduation in June

Find Clarah's name

I feel better knowing that the two of them are together and can take care of each other

Caity "Guess what?! A boy just texted me"
Clarah "I have no boys"

But Clarah... you will in just a short time! I love you and live it up
