We watched my sisters and Nick's sister two weekends ago. All the parents were out of town and it was a party. We had a barbeque, went hot tubing, took walks, watched movies and played at the park. Too bad the parents had to come home. That weekend made me so happy that Nick and I grew up only 100 feet from each other. It made me happy that our parents still live in those homes and that "the other house" is only a quick run away. It made me happy that Nick and I have so many of the same childhood memories, even though we never talked until our twenties (he was way too cool to talk to a girl like me:). We both rode roller blades down the big hill behind my house, climbed the trees in the park, and snuck into the tennis courts. We can talk about our childhood without ever having to explain a thing. We just know. I like that.

I painted
I have never, ever painted anything. Well except for those 4 months in Nauvoo when I took a water color class. Not so good. But Scarlett's room had a giant green wall behind her crib. I did not want to hang anything on it because when she is older she will just pull it off. So... I painted. I borrowed "the tracer" from my wonderful in laws, found a cute tree on etsy, blew it up with "the tracer", traced it on the wall, painted and boom I am now a painter. I got real ambitious and even painted her name on the other wall. I must admit, it is real fun.
I like it!
Scarlett 3 Months
This past month Scarlett has become so much more interactive. I love it! She smiles more and more everyday. I don't even have to coax her into any more, she just smiles away. She loves to reach for toys and play on her tummy. My favorite new thing is that she "talks" to you. When Nick gets home she loves to just coo away. It's like she is telling him about her day. Love it. While taking pictures of her yesterday (cause she was 3 months and I had to document:) she rolled over. Just decided to do it. She started to cry after, I think it scared her. She is still a dream baby. Happy, sleeps through the night, tries real hard to take good naps, loves to go on walks. Oh man what made me happy and smile before she existed?
Funny nick names
-little stink
- Scarlotta
- Scout
- little fish
What she hates... the binky still and her bottle. She will not, ever, ever, take a bottle. I have tried over and over and she just screams. I guess I will just have to take her with me everywhere.
let the drooling begin

But that's all...
Emily and I have this running joke ( or maybe not joke but it's a running something). We can eat anything whatever we want for breakfast but it has be in small amounts. It usually goes like this... " I had some girl scout cookies for breakfast, only 3, and that was ALL I had" or " I ate the left over chocolate cake but that is all I have had and it's 11 pm" We both approve of this eating habit. Well this morning I may have gone overboard, I had 2 brownies with chocolate sauce and 3 cups of steaming hot chocolate ( yes 3 but that's all and its only 9:16 am). Just to make it worse I may just go upstairs and polish off the brownies.
Have you ever found something that a long time ago you loved and forgot about? I did, 3 times.
1. Orange juice I love you and will drink you all (the whole gallon) in one sitting
2. Alison Krauss- Forget About It album
3. Dixie Chicks ( so I never really lost this)

Anniversary Dinner
The actual celebration took place on Friday. Nick took me to an A-MAZING steakhouse, Flemmings. I ordered the always tender and delicious fillet Mignon and Nick got the house chicken. Like I said A-MAZING! It was so fancy that you order your sides separate. Yummy jalapeno potatoes and grilled garlic asparagus, top that off with creme brulee. Did I say it was A-MAZING yet. We then dropped Scarlett off at home with Caity and Clarah and ran to movie. I really wanted to see Sandra Bullock in her award winning performance (GO SANDY) in the BlindSide. Saw it. A-MAZING. So the night was, hate to be redundant, A-MAZING.
Best part... We are driving home and Nick says "great night but I still thought your homemade ritzy chicken and watching American Idol with Scarlett was better." That is true love.
I told Nick he could pick anything and I would make it for him as his present (this was on March 10 the real anniversary). He picked his absolute favorite "ritzy chicken". Not the most classy of dishes but man-oh-man it was good. I realize that I have made this for him on every anniversary and I think every birthday. We finished the night with chocolate ice cream, brownie, and homemade chocolate fudge sauce. AHHH chocolate attack!
Scarlett sound asleep at Flemming's. She loves to sleep at restaurants, why can she not do that during her nap.
P.S. what I really wanted for desert was her nummy chubby cheeks.

A Day in the life of....
6 am the alarm rings. Go running? Its cold. Still tired. I'll go later. No you won't. Oh well, back to bed. Then I remember I have a nice belly ring over my pants from my little stink down the hall. Fine. Yup, its cold outside and it makes my lungs burn.
Get home. Walk inside and hear the sweet babe crying. Nick is sound asleep in the warm bed with crying Scarlett snuggled next to him. Feed her, she is starving cause she is sleeping through the night (ya!). Like most mornings she explodes through her diaper and I throw her in the shower with Nick. I quickly run around the house and pick up all the nasty used diapers from this morning and yesterday. Dress Scarlett like a little doll and pick out Nick's tie. Quick kiss and he is out the door. Scarlett tired already, yahoo! Down for a nap.
The rest of my day is like shampooing your hair, rinse and repeat. Feed baby, play with baby, put baby to sleep. Repeat. Intermixed in this monotony is fighting Dixie kitty for the laundry, doing mountains of dishes, checking email, and feeling bad that my life is the most boring of all my facebook friends. I tell myself that if I had a car I would go do adventurous stuff... but probably not.
Without really doing anything at all its 5 pm and I wait impatiently for Nick to get home. He gets home later than expected (like most nights) and the first thing he does is look for something to eat in the fridge and then the pantry (like most nights). Nothing to eat! Why? Because I have no car! You can not go shopping without a car (I have tried but you can not fit a gallon of milk in the stroller carrier). I am a miracle worker and I create a meal. Nick loves it (like most nights). Baby to bed and then American Idol. We snuggle on the coach and tell each other that one day our life will be filled with fun and adventure... but probably not. I fall asleep. I awake in time to feed Scarlett the last time. Nick is sound asleep in the warm bed when I get into the room. Since he loves me he falls asleep on my side of the bed to "warm it up" for me.
11pm I lay down to go to sleep. I think how in the world did a spirited and spontaneous 18 year old turn into this... mother, wife, cook, laundress, cat fighter? I remember now. A boy fell in love with a girl. Boy proposed, girl excitedly said yes. Love, marriage, baby carriage. Isn't that how it goes? But most suprising is that I would not have it any other way. Today it has been 3 years of wonderful marriage. Being married and have a baby makes life hard but somehow it makes it so, so much better.
Nick you are my best friend and I love you more now than ever before!

Ahhh Fresh Air

SPRING HAS COME
I hope this nice warm Vegas weather sticks. I always hate how spring can toy with you... perfectly warm one day and then stormy cold the next. So, I am just going to enjoy the perfectly warm days while they last. I have been taking walks and opening my balcony door, letting the fresh scent of spring fill my house! Scarlett loves to be outside and look around, especially on our back balcony (so much to see, just don't look down). I was talking with Emily yesterday about the seasons. We both agree that not one season is our favorite but it is the changing of seasons that we love. Just when you get sick of winter (all the Christmas spirit, hot chocolate, and chill air) spring knocks on the door. Well, you may come on in!!
Don't look down. Our unfinished back yard, and the neighbors
