Scarlett is at such a growing up age! I have seen her change a lot over this last year. She went from little kid to full on big kid. She loves to spend time talking to me and asks all sorts of questions of life/the world. She has a great sense of humor and is super silly. I love hearing her knock knock jokes while I do her hair in the morning before school. Scarlett makes friends where ever she goes and I know kids like being around her because of her easy going feel and light hearted attitude. Scarlett also loves to play by herself. Her favorite toys these days are small hatchimals, shopkins and her American girl doll. While Alice and Jack watch a show in the afternoon after school Scarlett plays in her room. She has a huge imagination and can gets lost in her own little world all the time! Scarlett loves collecting small toys, writing stories about her friends, making books and then drawing pictures in them, helping me in the kitchen, and playing with Alice (and sometimes Jack but she mainly just teases him)
Scarlett has been having some struggles with school. She is extremely kind and well behaved (thank goodness) but is having a hard time keep up with the learning material especially reading and math. After months of working hard after school every day and going to a special reading class I am seeing major improvements. I am so proud of her! Every day after school she happily does about an hour of homework with me. I sit right next to her and we practice math facts, to worksheets, go over her spelling words, and do reading comprehension worksheets. Then in the evening she snuggles with Nick and reads for 30 minutes. It is a lot of work on all of us!! I am hoping that with time she gets faster and the time it takes gets less and less. I hate having her do homework for so long but I know that the one on one time with me and extra work is essential right now. But she is an early rise and a night owl so she gets her fun playtime and crafting in then! I wake up almost every morning after her and she is just playing by herself and having free rain of the house.
Scarlett you are a wonderful little girl and daughter! I am so impressed with your growing testimony of the Savior and your sweet desire to always choose the right. These past months I have seen you really come to understand that your Savior loves you and that happiness comes from following gospel principles. You are so ready to be baptized in a couple weeks and make those sacred covenants with your Heavenly father. Please remember how much your family loves you!!
