This past Saturday we celebrated Scarlett’s
birthday with a super fun party. She does not turn 3 for another week but
December can be a crazy month so we celebrated early. Scarlett loves balloons
and bright colors so I chose that as her “theme”. She helped blow up the
balloons and make the cupcakes. When I would tell her that these were for her
birthday she would squeal with excitement. Every morning would start with “it’s
my birthday today”. She is such a delight. Here is what we did: bounce in the
bounce house, have a snack, decorate balloons with stickers and markers, smash
a piñata, have cupcakes, ride bikes around the back yard, and open presents. I
feel so blessed that the weather was gorgeous, thank you Las Vegas. The day of
the party Scarlett was a little shy and overwhelmed, of course, but I know she
enjoyed the whole experience.
My
sister has a little boy that also has a birthday in December so we decided to
share the work and money and combine the parties. We had it at my mom’s house,
which happens to be great middle ground. Scarlett’s was in the morning and
Andrew’s was in the afternoon. Having her help was the only way I survived. I
am not an entertainer and can get stressed out so it was nice to have Emily
there to calm me down, as usual. I loved and I mean LOVED how it turned out.
Thanks everyone for helping and for all those that came!
I loved the feel of all the balloon buntings. The light went though the balloons and lit the ground up with rainbows.
Emily put these balloon topiaries together. She is a crafty woman and great to plan parties with!!

My sister Kim even stopped by so Charly could come. It made it even better and Scarlett adores Charly.
Pinata time!
I was adamant that there be a pinta. I loved
those as a child. Who knew they were 20+ bucks? Emily and decided to make our
own using paper mache. It was messy and somewhat time consuming but worth it.
It was Scarlett’s favorite part of the party and it actually turned out pretty
cute. Of course the cute streamers at the bottom were whisked off by the
children before it was even up.
Charly smacked it hard and it feel but did not break. The kids loved it when it fell.
Waiting for turns
Then it fell again so..
We beat it up on the ground and ...
out came the candy!
Blowing out her candles
every little kid licks the candles

Sad to see everyone leave
The post mess. Banner fell, gum balls everywhere, craft explosion
Then this little boy Andrew had an amazing dinosaur party. Is he not the cutest 6 year old!
