33 weeks. My lovely surprise birthday signMy birthday present was a new hair cut. It is short but I really love the change from my "hillbilly" long hair.
So last week on November 10 I turned 24. I am finally in my "mid- twenties" and I actually feel it. I do not feel like a teenager any more. This comes as a shock to me since I always thought I would feel 18. But I guess graduating from college, being married, and about to have a baby makes one feel "old." Maybe once I am able to tie my shoes or even see my feet this feeling of "oldness" will pass. But then I will have a lovely (and screaming) infant, so I better learn to enjoy growing up. Anyways, it was a fun birthday. I am so tired at night these days (another reason I feel closer to death) that I told Nick I just wanted a very simple birthday celebration. He surprised me and after work took my to my favorite Cafe Rio. When we got home he had put a sign up over our table and bought cheesecake for desert. He even let me pick out the movie, which ended up being Princess Bride. I have not seen that movie in like 10 years and it was an excellent choice. That movie is like wine, it just gets better with time. So not the most glamorous birthday but I it was just what I wanted. The next night my family was excited to take me out to BJ's restaurant. The best part was witnessing the destruction of one of the best deserts ever, The Pizookie. It is a gooey mess of cookie and ice cream. It is so simple yet it fits into the category of "food of the Gods". So until next year, Happy Birthday to me!!
The flowers Nick got me. Purple is a personal favorite.
Famous Pizookie. GET IT!!
If you notice the candles are put in groups of "2" and "4", creative on Nick's part.
