Grandpa Doug’s funeral

My sweet grandpa Doug passed away the week after Thanksgiving. It is so bitter sweet. He missed my grandma and was ready to go but we will all miss him. He had a quiet presence but he lead a life of service. I loved his long stories and how he would squish snails with his fingers (it always made me squeal). I make my zucchini just like he did with lots of butter, cheese, and onions. He Thanksgiving stiffing is my absolute favorite and I my mom makes it just like him every year. It was a wonderful day celebrating his wonderful life. Being together with ALL my siblings at Christmas time while staying at the Grand America Hotel was a gift beyond words. Though  it was a quick trip it was perfect!
I drove up quick with Emily and my dad got us rooms at the Grand America. Stayed up late chatting with Emily and Brady. I sure love my siblings

All my cousins!

Callen 10 months

Callen turned 10 months last week and it’s been a big week for him. I weened him, he started sleeping in Jack’s room, and he started sleep through the night (on most nights)! He is so so happy and has MAJOR fomo (fear of missing out). This kid has to be right in the middle of all the chaos and loves to scream and make his voice heard. Scarlett and Alice adore him and he always wants to play with them. He is the cutest little puppy and is loved by us all!

I decided to ween callen because I was in fear he wasn’t getting enough to eat. Sure enough he loves his bottle and is so much happie now that we done.  It was a little hard to stop nursing as I wanted to make it to 12 months but it’s nice to have a more freedom. I LOVED nursing Callen and sitting in my rocking in my room all those months. I would sit in the rocking chair, look out the window to the mountains, and enjoy the peace. I feel so so blessing that I have been able to nurse all my babies for as long as I really wanted. It’s been a joy of my life to cuddle them and have that close bond!!

Alice soccer

Has had such a great season playing soccer with all her friends again this year. Coach Jonathan from the ward does a great job teaching the kiddos and I saw improvement in Alice throughout the season. I loved going to all the practices and slowly watching the weather change. It always starts off so hot and by the end it’s fall! Practice in the evening with a beautiful sunset and kids playing is

Jackson 4 years old

Jack is 4!! It’s hard to believe that my sweet baby boy is 4. He is such an enthusiastic, passionate, fun loving kid. I absolutely adore him. Jack is also wild, super wiggly, opinionated, and sneaky. He absolutely drives me crazy. Haha let’s just say “it’s the best of times and the worst of times”.  Regardless, I am so so glad I am his mom and that I get to be apart of his adventures.

Jack has such a big imagination and is always dressing up and playing pretend. He has a cute pet reindeer he named Comet. He says things like “shhh Comet is sleeping” or “Comet needs a drink” or “Comet can’t talk but he says he loves you”. It melts my heart.

He also LOVES coloring and is really good a drawing pictures. I love listening to him as he tells me the story going on in the drawing. I have found that engaging in coloring and puzzles really calms him down and keeps him busy (in a good way).

More than anything Jack loves his cousin Savanah or Nana as he calls her. They play every day and are the best of friends. Nana totally bosses him around and he just does what she says. I love hearing their funny conversations about life and seeing them bounce around. Everyday after Callens nap we go see Nana and Emily and run errands, go to the park or library.

For his birthday we kept it really simple (because we were going to Disneyland just the day after). We went to McDonalds with counsins and sang him happy birthday. He picked out bright green Spider Man cupcakes (he loves spider man). After McDonalds  we all headed to the Children’s Museum.  We went to dinner as a family to his favorite restaurant Cafe Rio. He loved every minute and kept saying “it’s my birthday” all day.

Jack is the sweetest little boy with a heart of gold. I love watching him grow. Every day is wild but also a gift. Jack momma LOVES you!

Halloween 2018

Such a fun week of activities! The kids all wanted to be their favorite animals this year so Scarlett was a purple bunny (had to be purple since it is her favorite color) Alice a flamingo, and Jack a bat. Jack LOVED his bat costume with wings and was very insistent on me putting fangs on him with face paint.

We had fun trick or treating to the Dino House and around our neighborhood. We have such a fun community with family and friends. My kiddos said they had the best night ever!

Off they go to school

She is always so jumpy and hoppy. A bunny really is her spirit animal

2018 Nevada Day

We went up to Provo with Emily and her kiddos for a fun Nevada Day vacation. We spent a morning at the Flake ranch going on all their fun swings and riding horses. We spent the evening at Cornbellys pumpkin patch and loved the kid village with all the small houses. Saturday we walked up to Bridal Vail Falls and then spent the afternoon at the BYU football game. It was a quick trip but the kids loved getting away and taking a trip in Nicks new truck.
