Holy Guacamole

So she does not like avocadoes. I say she is much to young to have opinions!

Then I gave her peas. Sheesh... the drama

Nick's Week

This past week really has been a "Nick Week". We celebrated his birthday on Monday and then his first father's day on Sunday. For his birthday I made him a special birthday dinner ( a little spicy but still really good) and then we headed over to the park to eat cake. Thank you so much Candi for watching a cranky Scarlett so we could have some needed "alone time" at the park. Nick you are 27 but you don't look a day over 25 :).

Father's Day was... well interesting. On Saturday night Scarlett decided she had had enough of being an angel and turned into the devil. She started screaming at 10pm and did not stop until close to 3 am. WOW! It was absolutely horrible. Poor little thing had an upset stomach and she let us know she was not happy. Piercing, just piercing screams. I thought our neighbor was going to call the police for beating our baby or something. Luckily everything turned out fine, she tuckered herself out and fell asleep. Nick and I were exhausted on Sunday and Nick stayed home from church with Scarlett. We slept most of the day and I don't remember much else. We went over to Tiffany's house for dinner and Father's Day celebrations. Thank you Nick for being such a wonderful father to Scarlett. Lets be honest...she loves you best!

And to my dad... I love you. Is it too cliche to say you are the best? Because I look just like (but with hair) people always ask me "are you Jon Camp's daughter?". Since I was little I say yes with pride. I love being your daughter and could not ask for a more giving and loving father!

yes dad you ROCK!

Scarlett 6 Months

This time last year I was just pregnant and the thought of having a baby left me breathless. Could I really be a mom? Will I really have a 6 month old baby this time next year? The answer is YES! Now the thought of not having her leaves me breathless. She is the joy of our lives. It's gone by so fast yet so slow. If you ask me she just loves being 6 months.

She sits up, eats pretty much any fruit/vegetable but loves peas and bannanas, doesn't like anything cold, chews on her shoes, laughs so hard when you kiss her under the chin, rolls over and talks to herself when done with a nap, smiles at anything and everyone, still has not even noticed Dixie kitty existence, plays for hours in her exersaucer, can't roll over from back to stomach, has two little teeth, and most of all LOVES to suck on her two middle fingers. Oh and
when she is mad she shuts her mouth real hard and her chubby cheeks stick out (i kiss 'em every time).

Sucks on the fingers when done eating and she does it will both hands

Sucks the fingers when she wants to sleep. Her favorite thing in the world is sucking her fingers and hugging her blanket

Girls Trip

My brother and sister-in-law, Brady and Cherise, are saints. My mom ,four sisters, and I decided it would be a great idea to haul ourselves and kids to Dallas for a girls trip. We stayed at their house...all 15 of us, like I said they are saints. And most shocking of all is that we had the most fabulous time. My sister, Emily, has written a complete play by play on her blog (flakefamilyupdate). Here are a list of my favorite things

1. Shopping for jeans with us girls (kimberly is A-MAZING at picking out jeans!)
2. My brother Brady's smoothies, they tasted just like jamba juice
3. Getting super giddy and weird while staying up late making hair bows
4. Watching Kim pull the "I am a gorgeous damsel in distress" and get a guy to fix our flat tire
5. Snuggling with twins Everett and Ella, who just happen to be the most snuggly babies of all time.
6. Taking pictures of the girls and finally fulfilling my dream of jumping in the pool dressed in a dress (pictures of that will come soon)
7. Eating the best food ever made by our amazing hostess Cherise!
8. Sleeping on a blow up mattress with Caity thinking it was okay to snuggle with me all night
9. Shopping, shopping, and yes shopping!!
10. Of course my most favorite was being with my incredible family

First time on a plane. Did pretty well but I think she likes being on Earth better

Preston and Jensen watching a movie

Ella love and mean LOVED Scarlett. She always wanted to give her kisses.

Sad to be home and have my bedroom look like a laundry bomb went off

"Finished, yet just begun"

Of all the things that change in life high school, with all it's drama, flair, and growing up, stays the same. I went to my little sister's high school graduation yesterday and it felt oddly much like mine. I am sure my dad felt it was oddly much like his and my grandma felt it was much like hers. Being a teenager and "finding yourself" really is a universal experience. Caity, if I could give you one piece of advice as you enter this crazy world... "the best is ALWAYS yet to come!"

i love you

And just like that it's summer

Finally the 100+weather has hit Vegas and it smells like summer ( or like burnt asphalt and rubber). It has been a windy and somewhat chilly spring. I was starting to wonder when it would "feel" like summer. After memorial day? Nope. When Caity and Clarah got out of school? Nope, still didn't. Like most things a trip to the lake cured all my worries. I got on the boat with the hot wind blowing and boom... it was finally summer. It was Scarlett's first time and we might make a boater out of her yet! Just when I was getting sick of Spring the world gives me Summer and the feeling of freedom

The life jacket was quite traumatic for her. She screamed for about 5 minutes before accepting her fate and then pooped out.

The Bird

I was making lunch this afternoon when I heard a "BANG" on my glass door. Then I saw a poor little bird on our balcony. It was laying upside down with it's feet sticking straight up in the air. I thought it was dead, it layed like that for 10 minutes. I was freaking out. Then, all of a sudden, it just stood up. I think it's hurt because it is just staying on our balcony and did not even move when I came out to take a picture or when I pelted it with bread crumbs. Poor little birdy. If it was a pigeon I would feed it to Dixie kitty, but this is an actual bird. I wonder when it will fly away?

Update: it flew away after about 6 hours on our balcony hidding under the barbeque.
